Updates, and a Break

So I'm back at work again; the long long holiday break is over.

First of all, Twincest. I've got pages 13 and 14 rough sketched, and I'm working my way along with 13 pretty nicely. I accidentally drew Devon making those ducklips that are all the rage on Facebook, and it made me lol before I erased it.

I've decided something for a plan of action for the next month, or possibly two. I'm going to be closing my commissions for a little while. This is my official announcement. They will resume at the end of February, or very early March.

The reason for this is because of a cycle I've noticed; one that feels a little unfair. The more Twincest I draw, the more views, watches and general interest I get. The more of this I get, the more commissions I sell. But the more commissions I sell, the less time I have to work on Twincest. Commissions are being bought by money, so they take priority, whereas Twincest is all my own project. But, I feel like it's an unfair way to thank people for bringing their business to me because of the comic, by not drawing the comic as often. So, once I clear out my commission queue, and finish the last two Auction Commissions from oh-so-long-ago, I'll be closed to focus on drawing the comic, as well as working on art for the sake of improvement (since drawing a commission is hardly the time to experiment with new techniques that could possibly end in failure!).

tl;dr Less commissions, more comic.

One side of me feels giddy that we'll be seeing more of the twins!
One side of me feels sad that we'll be seeing fewer commissions in between.
But all of me feels somewhat heart-warmed that you're doing this because of how much you care about your fan-base, and improvement of your own art. ^^

I guess it boils down to me just loving your art style, and wanting to see whatever you come out with next!

Yeah, it's a bit of a mixed bag for me, too. The greedy part of me definitely hates turning away money, ha ha. But I really need a break to improve myself for a bit, so it's necessary. On the bright side, my art will be more passionate for a little bit. That's usually how it is when I force myself to supress what I want to draw for a while, and hen draw all at once.

Pardon any typos, I just had a huge glass of chocolate wine, lol. Fuzzy-headed panda is fuzzy-headed

You shouldn't feel guilty that it's taking you longer to get work on the comic done, that will just create stress that will get in the way of working on the comic even more.

But if you want to focus on it for a while, I'm quite pleased by that, I like almost everything you draw, but that comic has a special appeal, ha ha. n_n

ART15
ART15
: Stands for "too long; didn't read:", means "here's the short version for the reading impaired" or "here's the executive summary ('cause we're not allowed to call executives impaired)".

@Spix: Hope you find a balance that makes you happy :)

Thanks for keeping us abreast!  Your candor and honesty is refreshing, and your reasoning seems both fair to your commissioners and honorable in keeping your "grand project" in focus.

Much respect, girl.  You couldn't possibly have handled this situation better.

Please spixy, take your time! Like the latest episode of Ponies pointed out, you can't rush quality! Please, please, please, don't burn yourself out! I'd rather wait a month for a page, then you work for three weeks straight, then ragequit because you're overworked and stressed. You're the one taking us on the journey, not the other way around; set your own pace.

Thanks. That's actually exactly what I've been trying to do as well. I know myself, and I know that if I force myself to draw this comic on time, all the time, I'd end up hating it! And yes, a ragequit would totally follow. That's why even though it's frustrating, I've been taking my time *nods*
