MEDICAL-CENTERED JOURNAL ...LISTEN (LITERALLY)

that really freaked me out..i know a bunch over Tinnitus..but i never EVER thought it could reach THAT LEVEL of external audibleness..this is just freaking horrible

it can be caused,as it seems, from a jammed-up vein in her neck..still...it sounds liek a SCREAM O_O  afreaking SCREAMING VEIN!

do you have any idea on how this happens?

The follicles inside the cochlea are actually responsible for this.

And yes, I've done the above, 20 years ago I taped my own tinnitus.

And no, tinnitus is no fun AT ALL! :(

are you sure? i never knew the inner cochlear terminations could make such an audible sound (unless you refer to something else with "follicles") i would you to explain me more in detail. this interests me !

I'm pretty sure, given I've lived with it for 50+ years... :( Sometimes, its solid tones, sometimes harmonic chords up to ~20kHz, and sometimes the "quiet" background shrieking, which can only be masked by other sounds, like ambient drones, fans, wind, surf, rain sounds... And when it's really bad, it can distort all other sounds... It's maddening.... :(

It's usually because of nerve damage, such as the "noise" in the nervous system caused by congenital rubella syndrome, which I have, but can be vascularly-caused, too. But yes, the "follicles" not only can be vibrated by sound, but can vibrate on their own, and amplified by the middle and outer ear chambers, which is why it can be picked up by microphone.

And yes, before you ask, I've almost been driven crazy because of the noise... I wouldn't wish it on anyone. :(
