regarding comissions

I used to have a que system, but it makes me frustrated that I cant make the drawings for people who wants them since they have to wait in que, so im abolishing the que and everyone who waited in it sorry. This is one reason I do not take money up front, imagine if I had :x

Anyway I will do a slotbased system from now on where I will have one slot open at a time. the slot is currently occupied by my latest comission but I will post a journal when its open. Again sorry to those who waited so long in que :x

So, you give someone a slot, work on their comish, and they pay you after completion? I'm currently only doing two at a time, but when I open comishes again (officially), one at a time sounds like heaven. I had 10 ppl in a queue once, it was a living hell ^///^

How are you picking who gets to be in that slot?

First-come, first-served feels "fair" at first, until you realise that it unfairly advantages those who can spend more time on InkBunny, since they are more likely to see your journal as soon as it is posted. And if you always post at a certain time of day, it gets worse: then you only get commissions from people who are logged in at that time, so entire swathes of the world are excluded.

If I took commissions, I'd instead say something like "the slot will probably be free tomorrow. So everyone gets 24 hours to ask for a commission, but I'll pick the one that I would most enjoy drawing, the one that inspires me most. If none leap out at me as being really awesome, I'll roll a dice. Yes, it's entirely unfair, and biased, and people I think are cool and who's characters turn me on are more likely to get a slot because they are more likely to inspire me. But at least it's HONESTLY unfair, and this way I get to draw what I like best, and trust me, you don't want to see me drawing stuff I'd hate drawing!"
