What a great way to start off the new year! I've had a great week this week, I was at Professor Awesome's house all week and wasn't harassed or pestered by my family back home about dumb crap or coming home to clean up after them. I decided to start up my Weekly 5 lists again and it turned out marvelous (better than what I can say for last year). I managed to complete everything I was aiming for on time and on schedule and I feel great about it! It feels a little weird making a journal where I really don't have anything really negative happening in my life for this week. I've even managed to not drink any coffee this week.
Professor Awesome found a few drug store jobs this week to apply to but we haven't heard anything back yet on that. Just finding some job openings is great news but having employment would be even better. Who knows, might get lucky this coming week.
I think I should probably get a new CD/DVD drive for my computer. I used to have two of them but one my middle brother busted by playing a cracked CD in and it shattered inside of it. I don't know what he was thinking, he probably wasn't. The other one is finicky and doesn't like opening or closing when you press the button and when it does play a CD, it makes strange noises and the CD is hot when you take it out. Now it still plays them but it makes me worry. The only spare CD/DVD drive Professor Awesome has is wonky as well and opens and closes by its own will. Don't know where I would get one of them around here though but it isn't that big of a deal.
I really don't have much else to say for this week, I've just mainly been doing art everyday and playing a little bit of Minecraft. For next week, I plan on doing more character concept. I'm re-doing almost all of my previous character concept and getting to drawing some that I never got to in the past two years. I'm thinking next week I'll draw Joseph, Vixey, and Lord Valcor. After that, I haven't decided yet. I'm satisfied with my previous concept of Juna and Rune and Dalken already are in the comic so I don't need to do any concepts of them (also gets me out of typing some of Rune and Dalken's back story so I can let that be eventually shown in the comic). I may do some character concept of certain characters that don't appear until the second book/saga of Demordicai Diamonds that I've been working on.
For this year, I'm going to be making a big push on keeping to a weekly update schedule for Demordicai Diamonds. So far so good with this week and I plan on keeping it like that. If I can stick to it, I should be able to wrap up Chapter 2 and head into Chapter 3 sometime in the next few months. If I can sneak in a double update here and there then maybe sooner but my main focus is going to be reliably getting a new DD page done every week and posting it on Friday. I may also this year do a few 2 or 3 page mini comic sneak peaks of what is to come in future chapters of Demordicai Diamonds.
My dad is off work this weekend and needs some help back home FINALLY patching up the kitchen wall he tore up back in September. I guess the cold coming in through the cracks is finally convincing enough to put it back together and put some new insulation in there. So I'm heading off home for the weekend to help him out. I plan on being back at Professor Awesome's house either Sunday night or Monday morning to start next week's Weekly 5 list and get some more art done. I won't let 2012 turn into what last year turn out to be.
