Cursed Ice

Oh yay...  Ice got the better of me recently (as in last night when I went out to let the dog back inside...)  and I go break my right arm...  I swear this happens almost every year, I fall and break something.

Don't worry, it's only a hairline fracture, not a bloody, bone tearing through flesh and skin break.  That was my leg last year   x_X

Anyway, my writing will be slowed for a while.  I'm not like my husband who can type with one hand (thing clean thoughts...).  Please bare with me for the time being.

Thank you.  I can type and still draw, just a fair bit slower than before.  At least it wasn't my wrist.

i know how that feels, spent most of last year either in an ankle boot or arm sling

Three years ago it was my tailbone...  THAT was the worst thing ever to break...

Typing with one hand is especially hard when you're trying to type with your off-hand Dx Sadly Idk how it feels, so I can show as much sympathy...I have a habit of not breaking when I should.

I know plenty of dyslexics that can write fine. As long as it can be typed up, and you know what you wrote, then it'll be coo'

Yea, but I'll stick with typing.  Less mental anguish for all involved, hehe.

You're lucky that you can type up a story straight off...I have to handwrite first~

You think so?  I have to type it out, then proofread it, a few times to find all the mistakes I've made.  Sometimes I find I have to rewrite whole sections or even the whole chapter at times, especially when drunk or when I'm out of coffee.  There will be no drunken writing for some time to come, hehe.

If I try to just type something up, I cant think, instant writer's block. If I then turn around and try to write the same story by hand, it comes easily~ Even if you have to rewrite things, at least the ideas come to you~

I believe you did say something earlier.  Thank you though.

I'm a fast healer anyway.

Good thing it's just a hairline fracture. I had one on both my arms at once and was out of the cast in about two weeks.

Both at once?  Yikes.  Well, I've broken both legs, multiple times, both arms, half my ribs, both collar bones, my jaw, my friggen tail bone and half my fingers.  And you know what?  ICE IS ALWAYS THE CULPRIT!!!  Except the jaw, one collar bone and a few of the ribs, that was a car accident.

One would think I wouldn't even exit the house during the winter months...

...........................wow........................where do you live? That might not be such a bad idea. That or start wearing snow cleats.

I live in not-so-tropical Canada.  As for cleats... hate the things personally.

Just a thought.

Question is: do you hate them more, or less, than broken bones and the not-insignificant risk of permanent injury, paralysis or death?

If "more", then maybe spray your soles with Shoe Grip or similar, and maybe get shoes with a coarse tread that grips better in the first place. None of that will be as good as cleats, but it might be good *enough*.
