Boy do I have an idea for you! But first, a question: Do you think famous writers produce a single, four hundred page book to sell once for $20 dollars? Hell no! That's way to much work for just the one payment, so they sell millions of copies and collect on their hard work. Pretty obvious though, right? I'm sure all of you know that, but apply the idea. As far as I can tell, furries always put the burden of paying a writer in full on one fur. That fur throws about ten bucks at a writer with a story idea attached, and in about a week that writer posts a twenty page long, revised and edited, polished story. How many hours do you think that took though? Any more than two hours, and the writer is working for less than minimum wage. They're better off grabbing extra hours at a dead-end McJob than writing your naughty stories. bottom line is no one person can afford to properly pay a writer and get a worthwhile story.
I'm not selling myself as much as I'm just selling an idea: if you like an artist/writer's work, try to find it in your budget to donate something monetary to them. It doesn't have to be big. Heck, it can be 25 cents if that's what you feel is right. The big impact comes in the second part of the idea, and that is to spread the idea. If you tell others about it and ask them to do the same, the number of people donating increases exponentially over time. Dimes and quarters add up, and if the sum is worth the effort, you're going to start seeing more great art and stories.
