Need scanner...

Alrighty, got a new computer for Christmas...downside, new computers do not have paralel ports or serial ports. My big-format scanner uses the old paralel port. So, until such time as I can get a new A3 scanner, scanning new art will be a pain, scanning on an old machine, then porting to the new machine.

Depending on the design of your new computer, you might be able to but a parallel card for it, or even a parallel to USB adapter.  It might be a lot more economical than a new scanner, especially if your old scanner works with the new computer's operating system.

Oh yeah, seen plenty of them on Amazon when a friend ran into this problem a few months back.  They were pretty cheap too.

I have to agree with Whitehair. The best option (if you dont want to buy a new scanner) is to get a parallel to USB adapter. Parallel port cards dont really exist anymore, and installing them on a new system can create issues, such as slowing the system.

Check Ebay. They have some, like This one

A cheap adapter or PCI card would work just the same.
