First time ever I post a Journal here but I do need a bit of help. I was wondering if this site: https://www.systemax.jp/en/sai/ is safe to purchase a license for Paint Tool SAI? The reason I'm asking was because the website wanted me to fill out an address as well as my card number (unfortunately, they don't take gmail paypal) and I'm also not sure if they encrypt said card number.
Has anyone bought a license for SAI? If so, is the website trustworthy?
I know I'm a year late (e.g., now they have a PayPal button), but you can check for encryption of your browser's connection to the site by looking for "https://"; at the start of the URL. If you want more information, I found a guide here.
As for checking if the website is a legitimate seller of SAI licences, the only way to be sure is to ask customer support at the official SAI website.
Unfortunately, there's not much you can do to check the overall security of the website, even (especially) if they have badges from security companies saying that they're safe. Even if a website doesn't have any known exploits or viruses today, how can you be sure that someone with access to their server doesn't just copy their customer payment information database and sell it on the black market to someone who specializes in identity theft?
