Hurricane Blow Job

Well, I'm glad that's over with!

Coastal South/North Carolina (right around where border meets ocean), really didn't get the worst of it, about Category 1 / Tropical Storm winds, but that storm rained like it was trying to put out the fires of Hell.

Power and 'Net got knocked out for about 24 hours, just long enough for the freezer to defrost and make a puddle. Got a bunch of tree limbs down, and one tree near my place is hanging on by a splinter.

And my car really needs a good wash.

Sorry for the long delay in posting reading anything but I too am near the same area and I got some tree damage fence damage and some antennas that where broken from falling limbs. (I am a ham operator).  I did not loose power for long, but I did loose the freezer.. I think power flickering fried the compressor.  I just cooked all I could eat and tossed the rest.

Glad you made it through!

A week after the storm, the landlord's handyman said that he still didn't have electricity or water. I gave him some 4-gallon water cooler jugs that I'd filled right before the storm, I'm sure he got more use from those containers than I did.

By the way, that tree "hanging by a splinter" finally let go last week. At least there was nothing left for that chunk to hit or snag on the way down.

One of my coworkers in the Little River area had a tree go through his house. Not just the roof, it took out walls.

I also got called in to help salvage equipment from a restaurant in Little River - they got about three feet of flood water. We were also a bit spooked to find the pilot lights in the kitchen were still burning!
