For real!
3 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
2 cups chopped walnuts (or not)
20 large 'jet-puffed' marshmallows
1 cup butter
3 tsp vanilla extract
4 1/2 cups of sugar
1 lg can of evaporated milk

In Large stock pot, add sugar, evaporated milk and a pinch of salt. Cook on med. heat and bring to a rolling boil, (you'll know when it happens, the volume increases like 7x) constantly scraping the bottom. When boil is reached, time for six minutes then remove from heat. Stir in margarine, choc. chips and marshmallows (I find cutting the marshmallows in half speads up the melting process). Stir and stir and stir. After it is completely smooth and mixed, add nuts and extract. Pour into a buttered dish .Let sit for an hour  and then chill in fridge.

Yay for connections.
Time does vary sometimes depending on the day, and you have to be careful when cooking sugar.  It can burn you pretty severely... bad enough that you have a spot where no fur grows anymore. So be careful.

Ah, I used to do my fudge like this! good times.  My candy thermometer is well-loved.
