Ok, so I do volunteer work at my local zoo and we have abandoned pets in the education center, as well as some rats that are for feeding our snakes that we just "kidnapped" :P and we also keep pets that people give to us while they are on holiday.
Any way, there were two male rats that were very scared of humans and I heard also bit, and the volunteers were asked to handle them. I decided to train one so that he would be comfortable being held, my Bruce-y boy. The other one is Yuri and another volunteer has already formed a bond with him.
In the first week he never bit me and he was so kind and curious that I absolutely trusted him to never bite (except for when I'm wearing latex gloves, he doesn't kike them). I even tested my trust by spreading some watermelon juice on my eyelid and let him lick it.
