batman : the brave and the bold / l'alliance des héros

by
I finished this superhero serie. I was dissapointed by it : the choice of a graphic style of the 70's, the batman can do anything and nearly always have what he needs was annoying. I mean : best investigator in the world, second best space pilot, best driver, best fighter... It keep going, and that how the others heroes describe him... But outside of this, it's enjoyable. I enjoyed a lot some of the second roles (Plastic Man is quite cool) and while I tend to prefer their JLU version, characters were nicely done.

The little independant story at the start was amusing. Sometimes even better than the main episode. Lots of originals ideas but often let down by the realisation.

Batman's insanely rich, in the top percent of human achievement and psychotically driven. Frankly, that should be enough for the writers... just hire someone, Bruce!

So good point.

I thought the show was a lot of fun -- making him the best at everything was tongue-in-cheek and intentionally over-the-top.

It was supposed to be homage to the campy batman stuff from the 50's and 60's. It wasn't supposed to be serious in anyway. If you take it at the fact it was poking fun at the old way batman cartoons and tv shows were written then it succeeds. If you want a more serious batman series the 90's Batman the animated series would be worth a look if you haven't already seen it in it's entirety.
