Looks like Ryotsuke made a computer-controlled light that simulates a sunrise by gradually increasing in brightness.

You've got it right :) Still software part is very raw, actually no controls are yet working, only manual commands to COM port do work.

I hate how almost all electronics come with these super-bright blue LEDs nowadays :( Sure, blue LEDs are (sort of) new and cool, but they don't need to go on everything!

Neat project :) What kind of light are you using for the sun? (incandescent, LED, etc...)

I got a PIC microcontroller a while back, but haven't had time to do anything with it yet :(

Sun is simple incandescent lamp. Basically device is designed to be used later with any 220V lamp.
I've did a mistake ordering wrong components and now I should either order new ones (and wait 1 month more) or think of unstandard solutions. I live in stupid country without good local electronics stores.
