Mad Science!

I'm Geeking out! The DOOM BELL has been rung and the excrement is about to hit the atmospheric circulation device!
I don't know how many inkbunnies out there follow the webcomic Girl Genius, but if you like  Adventure, Romance,Hilarious Antics, and especially Mad Science, (the pursuit of "Things Man was Not Meant to Know") then you should give this amazing series a read.
Having spent a LOT of time creating  Horrible Monsters, Dangerous Weapons, Arcane Devices, not to mention Wholesale Devastation, I consider myself a Mad Scientist at heart! (well...half  mad scientist half Jagermonster...I'm rather fond of hats)
I've been a fan of the Foglio's work ever since I first saw their strip in  'Dragon Magazine' and I've been reading Girl Genius since the first black and white issue was printed! (yes...printed...on paper.) Girl Genius  is great stuff and  on my recommended reading list!
we now return you to your scheduled programming....

Thanks for blowing the last two days of my life!  Well, I had to start at the beginning, didn't I?

I've been familiar with Phil's work for a while (the Myth trade paperbacks, etc.)  I've also got an old book of cartoons he did that were based on a Sci-Fi convention, etc.  I can't find the name of it though, maybe it was just something that was in a magazine.

After marathoning Girl Genius, I like it, but it feels like there are some characters and plots that seemed to clutter it up a bit.  I wonder if they are planning on finishing it soon, or if it will keep going for several more years.   I also wonder if they always had a lot of it planned out from the beginning, or if they are making it  up as they go along.

You're quite welcome! (but it was fun wasn't it)
Ah, The MythAdventures series! I have the Myth trades as well as the original comic run, which was the reason I was hooked on Phil's artwork to begin with.
I imagine the clutter is more obvious with a marathon reading as opposed to reading it's original comic run (I think it may have been a monthly) or reading it as I do now 3 times a week and a rereading of the story arc when the trade comes out.
That's a question only they can answer. I hope it runs for a long, long  time! "a little from column A, a little from column B" I'll bet. Sometimes characters  develop a life of their own and don't always do what you've planned!

Note:  The "finishing it soon" comment was more that everything seems to be coming to a head, and at least the general arc may be winding up, rather than a wish that the whole thing ends.

I'm sorry- I misunderstood.(duhh!)
This arc has been going on a pretty long time though. And they still need to stop the Other! Not to mention that little time travel subplot
(they may think I've forgotten about that, but I haven't)

I have one issue of Dragon mag I found in a used book store that contained an article on creating your own functional languages for D&D.  I had a bunch of them at one time, but I gave it all up when I realized I was too self-conscious to be a good DM. (Y, this is really late, but sometimes I go back through stuff I missed first time out.) Jagermonster? I'll have to look that up. Never heard of it. Hmm.

since time is an illusion (lunchtime doubly so)  there's no such thing as late :) There is a lot of interesting backstory about the Jagermonsters. But since I've got get to leave for  workI'll have to cut this post short  Sorry...
