Have just replaced Tai's Story (the full version), with several errors corrected. Currently updating the chapters of Astray to match the versions on SoFurry, and because I have acted on the advice of a "critic."
You know, I still consider Tai's Story to be finished, but the fact is... I need to either seriously set things aside, sit down and edit thoroughly until I'm happy, or I need another pair of eyes who'll work with me to edit.
Self-editing is terrible. Not only is it hard, but you get nowhere; you miss obvious errors and are reluctant to take a scythe to your own work.
I've been trying to keep my prose a little more concise lately, but I still have these two novels (well, one and three-quarters) that I need to sit down and bring up to standard.
Astray's first chapter has been reuploaded and I even let it "alert" my watchers - I received feedback on this chapter particularly, pointing out that I could shorten it a little. I've done so, and improved it a little. Feel free to take a look and tell me what you think.
Oh, and Starling, if you read this: the whole "will only auto-fill once" thing is very troublesome. Is there any reason why it can't auto-fill the preview window when the story has been reuploaded? It wouldn't be a problem if we could copy-paste the new document in, but it's allergic to paragraphing, apparently - we don't get the spacing between paragraphs that we did when it auto-filled.
