Rayman Origins: Released today

Oh my god, Ive been waiting for this game to be released. I do love me Rayman, but what attracts me into it is cause it uses Gorgeous, beautiful, hand drawn backgrounds, effects, and characters. I am a big hand drawn fan, so thats why Im gonna get it. its for the Wii, Xbox 360 (Blech) and PS3. and its got some really good praise too. I bet Skyward Sword (Legend of Zelda) is gonna be in some tight competition for the best Wii title this year.

I do really want this game. But will have have to wait for quite a while sadly which makes me sad since word is there tying the success of this title to what happens with Beyond Good and Evil 2 which I want BADLY. So I WANT the game to succeed!

Oh but so far this game has recieved VERY good praise, even Steve Thomason (Nintendo Power writer) said in his review for it "It all adds up to the best Rayman game ever made, and thats coming from someone who adores Rayman 2. Origins may even Surpass Beyond Good and Evil as Ubisoft Montipeller's crowning achievement. I can think of no higher praise then that"

I too have heard the big praise of the underated BG&E and would like to try it myself. and I heard hes (Michael Ancel, creator of Rayman and Beyond Good and Evil) trying to work on BG&E 2. I bet with all the Rayman fans out their, this game will sell well

BGE has been in development for a long time now but very little details are ever released and the games future has come into question many times. What has me worried is while Rayman Origins maybe a fantastic game (Also I have only heard good things for it and the demo I played was amazing) it still worries me they tie it's success to BGE2 due to it's timing of release right now in the midst of a absolute onslaught of huge triple a titles. Timing of release can make or break a games sales which is what has me more worried than anything.

I see, you want them to release it when their arnt any good games coming out at that time period. that is a good marketing gimik. which is why I was confused when Disney released Winnie the Pooh on the same day as Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows part 2. what was Disney thinking??????

Yeah. Release a non triple A titles during a season with an absolute onslaught of massive Triple A games tends to doom a game a lot of the time. Has happened before and I hope it doesn't happen in this case. I wanted the game to succeed anyways even before it was tied to what could happen to BGE2. I would totally chip in and buy a copy myself to help out sales but I can't. Have to wait for it to come way way way way way down probably some point late next year or 2013.

It's an excellent game! It's a classic. It was loved by reviewers and scored well but sadly did not sell too well. The game saw a HD re-release on the 360 and PS3 this year. I picked up a copy of it on 360 myself and it's as good as I remember and looks even better now!

I dont think their is an Xbox game of that. Majesco (developer of a boy and his blob) only made games for the Nintendo systems)

there is something similar to a boy and his blob download only

actually I was wrong, Majesco makes for other systems too, just not a Boy and his Blob. one was made on the NES, one on the game boy, and one for the Wii (which is amazing)

or i think its a boy and his blob does the blob get bigger through puzzles?

Nope, teh Game a Boy and his Blob involes a Boy and a Blob (Duh XD) but the boy feeds the Blob Jellybeans to turn him into different things to get through puzzles. like the licorice bean turns him into a ladder.

their is also a game called De Blob which has a blob coloring a giant city that is colorless (but I havnt played this game)
