PS3 Headset. Which To Choose?

by
So I am finally considering to get a PS3 Headset but as usual, when I am looking to buy something I never had any experience with before, I dunno which to go with.

Obviously the official Sony brand feels safest but a bit steep at $50. The top other 2 that are 3rd party is the Gioteck Ex-01/02 and the Turtle Beach Ear Force PBT. Those being at $25, though the Turtle Beach one only that price from Amazon.

Just even though there are more positive reviews, there are those low reviews that say the sound is not good, the mic gives out at some point or this and that.... even on the official Sony brand, so it makes me worry that I might have the same issues.

Anyway... the links to them. I hate how I am so unsure and there aren't really many or any reliable reviews out there.

If money wasn't the problem I'd recommend this gaming headset http://www.creative.com/soundblaster/tactic3d/recon3do...
I own a wired Creative Soundblaster Tactic 3D Alpha, haven't had any problems with it, very high quality.

When it comes to buying anything online you have to take the negative reviews with a grain of salt. Sometimes the review was made negative because the item arrived late. Or the person bought the wrong item or just wasn't pleased with it. In certain cases they may have just happened to get that one item that had a faulty component in it.

Than there are times you just have throw the gauntlet down and take that chance with buying a product.

Just did a search, here's a link to Bestbuy's website with the PS3 Gaming headsets they sell: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/PlayStation-3-PS3-Accessor...

Yeah I looked up at Best Buy as well, seems they are mostly order online though. Be nice to get in-store and all. Friend of mine gets his from Best Buy and they replace his when it breaks or something... dunno why or how...

Just eh I mean what if it is broken or something like that... I can't return it for a replacement? Does it matter where I buy it and all? I mean I am being told that I cannot return or replace if something is wrong with it.

If you buy something from Best Buy and get their warranty, regardless if it is online or in-store, you can take it in-store for replacement/repair.

Yeah a friend of mine seems to use Best Buy for that and has had his replaced a few times already.

   Creat1ve puts out quality headsets.

Hell for my Language software, I can be across the room and it will register the words, but not be overly loud for when I am near.

Of course it'd be nice to get a good quality set but eh yeah... I mean I never seem to do online ever. Just last night though for the first time I played online with a friend and it was fun. Before then I had barely played a bit of Uncharted 3 beta but with a bunch of strangers.

Just yeah with my lack of money and how I never seem to do online, until recently... I don't even know how often I'd put them to use. Don't think I am one to be playing online all the time like others would. I just fear the product breaking or not working as good as it should.

I guess I am just all in that high of having had fun with a friend online for the first time like that. He has a headset but didn't use it since it wouldn't be fair since I didn't have and kinda no point then. But there were times where I wanted to tell him to take some cover and stop being out in the open and getting shot, which I later told him on IM that he should've done, heh. So it wasn't to good of teamwork, it being him and i VS some AI and all.

I have a Creative Soundblaster Audigy SE sound card that I bought back in 2006. Never had any major issues with that either. Now that I have that headset I mentioned I put the sound card away.

I've used my gaming headset for a couple of online games. But it mainly gets use for the single player games, music listening while I'm doing net related things and voice chat.

It would be great to play Bunch of Heros online with some friends here on Inkbunny. I bought that one last month through Steam.

For the PS3, you can actually use a Bluetooth Cellphone Earpiece. I use mine with my PS3 all the time. Figure, since I've already paid for it, why spend more money on another one.

Yeah but I am sure at cheapest it is still around $20, right?

Do they actually support proper A2DP yet?  I could only ever use my headset for voicechat, couldn't ever get in-game sound out through it...

I am just looking to be able to hear and talk to a friend while gaming. Though I am aware that getting a higher quality headset can include game sounds and you can hear things you never heard before and have a better edge in your game because you can better hear the direction of where the enemy is attacking from.

Random fur here lol ummm if you want cheap but good i would say the logictech ps3 headset its pretty good and its 20 dollars ^ ^ but out of the other choices i would say turtle beach cause they have a great volume function to adjust the game and chat volumes at the same time also you can get the extra piece to make your gaming extra loud and HQ ^ ^ if sound quality is what your looking for. As for me I just have a cool logictech headset it gets my gaming done :p

Ah well all I am looking for is a way to just chat to those I play with and listen to them. Not looking for something to improve my video game audio quality. I am on a standard TV anyway so... yeah.

I just wanna be sure it is good enough and to where he doesn't hear my video game either. I'd hate to lower my volume on my TV just to talk to him.

Where is this $20 logitech headset? I googled and only see it around $50? Lazy looking I know but I figure you'd know where to look if you have it.
