Learn2tag (rant)

Posted this on my Twitter >_>

KazeSkyfox
If you draw porn of a 16 year old anthro girl in slutty clothing YOU ARE NOT DRAWING CUB PORN. LEARN2TAG. Sick of finding that in my search.

Unfortunately I couldn't fit my entire rage into one post because Twitter is retarded and doesn't let you type a decnt sentence.

Anyway, basically having this problem with a lot of people labeling ANY-FUCKING-THING under the age of 18 as "cub", and seriously, stop fucking DOING that. It's NOT cub, cub is usually 12 and under.

And I don't want to hear any "If you don't like it don't look at it" bullshit, because that's not the point. The point is, they put "cub" in their tags, and I SEARCH that tag, and I do not want sexually-developed anthro characters ruining my cub porn. :l

I know there's a lot of ambiguity about what age makes something cub but let's just all agree that if it has fully-developed tits, is sexually mature, and has the proportions of an adult, it's too old!

When people do shit like this it discredits the search function. I mean, it's bad enough people don't always label Sonic fanart with "Sonic" which is on my block list for tags but now they're fucking with the tag I use most? What the hell is the point to search / block something if people are just going to be irresponsible anyway?

Personally, I think people put "cub" as a tag just to get more views. They draw an adult character, then they say they're under the American legal age of 18 just to have an excuse. That really pisses me off, fucking attention whores.

Sigh, you're so true.

It's a big shame that IB lacks a report button for bad tagged images |=(:/

Send the admins a PM. :D

Since they didn't answer my trouble ticket (even when I was kind enough to post a workaround which i found by myself),  I've lost the willingness to give feedback |=(:/

Try again anyway.

They can't really do much about it, I PMed one about it, they told me they can only get involved if something explicit isn't tagged as such, because it's apparently subjective. >_>

I thought it was universally agreed that cubs are kids in furry form which means "not sexually mature" but apparently it's up for debate.

And I absolutely hate things that are up for debate when they clearly have a simple answer. >_>

Then the solution is simple. Have a definition defined by the website's Wiki. It may not be a universally agreed definition, but it is a definition that is set in stone for the website, and will prevent further confusion.

Yeah like anyone wants to do that. >_>

I don't see he relation, I'm not harrassing or hating on anyone, I don't want them to take down their work, I just want them to tag it with "Teen" or something other than "cub".

Going by what I understand on the page, it basically says "The tags in the image are at the artists full digression, unless they're directly breaking the other rules of the website".

That's retarded, the tags are supposed to be a method of accurate search, they can't be contradictory or it demeans the search function. If someone tagged a Digimon image as Pokemon, that shouldn't be at the artist's discretion. >_>

IMHO it's a naive policy, because you have to contact the artist by your own to kindly ask for a tag change.
Like every artist would listen to a random viewer who don't even like the art in question. You can predict that it will almost every time end into a brawl between 2 peeps so that the admin is still involved into it.

Pretty much, and I dealt with that kind of bullshit on dA, I'd like for the mods to take some of the responsibility because people will listen to them, they won't listen to me, even though I'm right. I do not understand why it is apparently such a burden for mods to get involved in things like this, all they have to do is say "junp" and most people say "How high"? It's not like it takes more than two seconds.
