Heellllppp....

I fear my creativity is suffering the greatest atrophy to date, and I don't know what to do. I have no drive, no creativity, no will to be artistic at all. I have a few ideas, but every time I try and put them to paper, the ideas fade and I'm left struggling to finish the piece, or even make it look half-way decent! I can't even come up with original ideas anymore!

I want my brain back! Please help! =C

Then just start making lines, maybe you'll see something emerge.

Best of luck to you, though. x.x;

I wish I had an answer for this.. I REALLY DO.. because I've been suffering with the exact same issue for over 4 years now.. Every time I draw I have no will or want to draw.. everything I attempt to draw looks to me like it's crap AND to top it off I can't think of ANYTHING to draw anymore. It's as if my creative mind for drawing has died.

I think that perhaps the 4 years of art-class and forced daily drawing has killed my drive... hard to say for sure... but I would LOVE to be able to use what I know instead of just... sitting idly with some skill.

A new perspective is always helpful in generating new ideas or building off the old ones. Personally i'd love to see more rear views of your characters perhaps simply trying to do something difficult will kick you out of your rut?

Sounds like a classic slump to me, happens to everyone sooner or later.  Don't fight it, just keep a pencil and paper handy, and go looking for other distractions/inspirations.  Perhaps your brain is trying to tell you it wants to read a book, or wander down a nature trail, or something.

Sometimes the brain just suffers, 'think-muscle' fatigue, similar to the way an arm or leg will seem to lose strength after a period of extended use, even though the rest of the body feels fine.

Also, check your diet, if you've cut sugars and carbs too far back, you might be starving your brain of glucose.

Ask your friends for an idea to draw maybe? Something specific is often best. Sometimes that helps me. Sometimes.

i could pretty much just copypasta this whole journal :<
the closest i get to breaking out is getting inspired by other artists' pieces.

Sadly, that hasn't even been able to help me. I did get some really great advice on FA an stuff that seemed to help put my mind in the right place, at least. If you'd like me to forward them to ya, I'd be happy to.
