Bridge and "Bridge"...

by
I'm in Redding- a few days early- for my annual birthday walk across the Sundial Bridge, so I though I'd say I'm still around-- I'll post may next Writer's Challenge when I return Friday. I may even have a story or two (I have a total of 8 ideas in the queue, but being tied up with other things and depression has slowed me down :( ), but until then, I offer this cute short, "Bridge".

Should I be dreading Monday (the 10th, my 46th birthday), because I'm expecting nothing, or....

Damn, I could use a squirrel hug or two... :P

Just remember: The best album Pet Shop Boys ever did was while in their 40s-- Very. :) So the best lay ahead of you. :)

Yes! "Liberation" is (to me) the best song on there. "Very" was huge in the UK, but fizzled out in the states. I have the special edition that came with the unreleased album "Relentless."

This annual walk must be a valued tradition to you if this is what you do a few days before every birthday. To me, that's very touching in a way. And dont worry yourself, my friend. Depression is no stranger to me either. Dread nothing and take that day and emrace it as if it were your last. ^^ I'm afraid I have no squirrel hugs to give you, so how about one big wolf hug instead? ^__^ XD

I started this in 2008, largely to say I'm walking into the future. :) I normally do the walk on my birthday, but because of appointments and such, we did it a little early this year.

Since then, I've actually seen Redding transform from an outpost for the outdoors enthusiast (nearby Shasta and Lassen national parks, lakes & peaks) to an emerging metropolitan area with 200,000 people. The town originally thought the bridge, as futuristic as it was in 2004, was out of place, but I've seen things change, and are still changing. (Redding actually was a little smaller than Eureka, where I am, when I was born.)

And thanks. :)

Many Happy Returns of Monday. Hmm, squirrel hugs... *ponders* ...ah-hah!

A mouse walks in wearing seven silk scarves that don't quite hide her figure, carrying a boom box. She turns it on and sets it down. Music starts to play. She sways to the music, stroking herself all over, writhing and twisting slowly. She pulls at one of the scarves and it slips off; she plays with it, rubbing, sliding and draping it over herself before she lets it fall. The remaining scarves leave her limbs freer; she moves around more now, her gestures wider and more suggestive. And with each falling scarf, she dances more freely, more naked and closer. At last, only her panties remain. She's leaping now, swinging her hair and tail. Then she stops. She slides a finger under the band of her panties. With a knowing look, she pulls the band down gently and works her hips, her thighs, her knees, then her feet out of them. She dangles the silky, fragrant material from her softly-furred tail. Slowly turning, she twirls the panties and throws them at you. Just as they leave her tail tip, a squirrel leaps from behind the boom box after them. He catches the panties in his teeth, then lands on your face. "Lilac???" he squeaks.

[Lilac blinks from being distracted by the mouse's dance and looks at the male squirrel.]

Lilac: Wow!  Thanks!  But doncha think it's kinda small for a shirt? :p

Lilac considers the mouse.

Lilac: I think she's chilly too, 'cause she looks like she wants to mate.  Do you think they'll let us watch?

The Flying Lepticguini suddenly fling themselves at

Spinniguetti: Yee-haaa!
Fettusqueezi: Snooo-wee!
Hopperoni: Hoo-baa!

Spinniguetti: Happy birthday to you!
Fettusqueezi: Happy birthday to you!
Hopperoni: Happy birthday toooo you!
All Three: Happy birthday, dear DM!  Happy birthday tooooo yoouuu!

The Flying Lepticguini Sisters fling themselves away.

Spinniguetti: Ally-hoo!
Fettusqueezi: Jee-haa!
Hopperoni: Boing-geee!

Lilac: We can still watch, right?

Who knows?  With my generally unreliable nature, I might scribble them up tomorrow or a year from now. :o

At least my recent fortnight and a week's inability to connect to the internet did allow me to work up Part 7 of "Moon Rabbit" and much of Part 8 (which I'm fearing I might have to split into two parts), leaving only Part 9 (or Part 10) to finish the sequence off.  I just need to get around to editing Part 7 so I can at least get that one up sometime in the near future.

Well, I'd think you could sketch them up, just to give a visualisation of what you write about them doing... ;)

I look forward to the latest parts. :) Splitting #8 is your call, though neither I nor Inkbunny do have severe limits. (Displays of texts are, I think, at 500,000 characters, while actual files are limited to 20MB. By comparison, the 360+ entries of Elf Sternberg's massive work of erotic furry science fiction, the Journal Entries of Kennet R'yal Shardik- Many of the individual stories are novelettes or novellas in their own right- as raw HTMLs, thy total about 24MB, or about 14MB of raw text, or compressed into an epub file, about 5MB. I don't think anyone will write a single work as big as that, here!)

I probably should.  It would add one more leptic picture to the internet, at the very least. :p

I don't really want to split #8, truth be told, as it covers Baksrit's escape up to her confrontation with al-Qamar.  Breaking it up just wouldn't work too well in my opinion, but I also don't want it too much over 4-5 pages in OpenOffice at font 10.  But we'll see.  I need to finish it first.  I originally intended #7 and #8 to be one part (hence why I said there's 2 parts left when I posted #6), but split them when #7 grew into more than just a few paragraphs of Baksrit waiting to be rescued.
