Computer BBQ

Welp... my computer literally burst into flames... in the middle of rendering a large image with all 5 characers in it.  Got my old comp running so I can at least surf the internet (by old... I mean Pentium 1 old).  I will return once I buy a new computer, so don't worry, I'm not dead yet.

And no, I am not asking for donations, I earn enough from my job, so please hang on and I will resume with my art... eventually.  =^_^=

you should clean up your ventilation more often...
And observe your cpu temperature with a tool... I forgot which one I used...

ventilation was fine.  The computer was 5 years old, and I did run it hard.  Hopefully by next week I'll have a brand new, more powerful computer.  I managed to save the hard drive and a few other components, so I should be fine.

I managed to save the hard drive, so all my software and art is still safe.  I just have to be patient and hope the new computer can handle 2 hard drives (the old one was a HP Pavilion Slimline, capable of 1 hard drive and 1 DVD player/burner)

Are the drives IDE or SATA? Because almost any new computer will handle multiple SATA drives anymore. Many have only one or even no IDE ports though. Fortunately, there are IDE to SATA adapters or IDE port expansion cards you can purchase for about $20...

It is an unfortunate event but glad everything is save. (especially the artist ^^) Can't wait till your back up and running with everything. (P.S. I never got the whole 3d thing working on my laptop cuz its not powerful enough so I just drew a high...er detailed of one of my character. Check it out when you get the chance)
