Rule 34 MUST BE STOPPED (Read & Spread the word)

PLEASE READ THIS THOROUGHLY AND MAKE JOURNALS DISCUSSING THIS PROBLEM! WE MUST TAKE ACTION!

So, you go about your daily life thinking all is well and your sexy art is fine and dandy being noticed by users on inkbunny. Then you notice your art ends up on rule34...oh hey, no crediting or anything. I might as well just ask someone to put the source and artist tag on it or do it myself.

So, once again, all fine and dandy until all the sudden, you notice this is occurring quite often. So maybe you just feel like contacting the admins about it, maybe they can take it down or hey actually, why not just get on that DNP list so that no one can post your art to rule 34

Guess what. Admins basically send you a fuck off letter that's written very unprofessionally and shows that they have a lack of respect for you, themselves, and their own website. In fact, they don't even do shit for the art that gets placed on the website and will ban you for reporting images that you know that raise every little flag for copyright theft.

Then they say, oh, well the art finds its way onto maybe other websites and there are many users who are all uploading art illegally. Not necessarily true, especially when you do the research yourself and find that your art is blocked from guests thus only an inkbunny user can access it. And they upload it first to rule34 because even, you still can't find it anywhere else regardless of all the searching you do. Not to mention, you might even have one giant ass watermark of your name and even the user fails to credit it.

Believe it or not, the website promotes copyright theft and regardless of all those rules you see there...very few, if not maybe some, are carried out and the whole thing about "People who upload the art claim no ownership to it" is actually bullshit. Uploading art anywhere without permission especially is illegal regardless of what made of rule you have. Sure, people can tag it...that is if they ever find it. The worst part is when it comes from a foreign website. Then properly tagging the name can be or might be impossible due to different language and what not.

Worst of all, if your art was found on another website and then uploaded to rule 34 as one of the example the admins gave...that itself is actually another lawbreaker. Accessory to theft. So it doesn't matter if the art was stolen somewhere else, the fact is rule34 is popular and can be seen by anyone. Not to mention, your art could be taken from there to where ever and then if it was uploaded there and your artist tag name was shown on that picture, you could even get harassed which would really suck.

One might say, it's the internet so it can't be helped. Actually, it damn well can. It's called, do your fucking job and remove the art like you said you would in your rules. I've heard many cases from other users and now the last straw has finally been drawn with sweetcornchan when all she wanted was to be on the DNP list regardless of if it works or not...not rudely told off with an admittance to promoting copyright theft and a lack of control over the website.

Users of inkbunny. it is not okay to have your art uploaded by someone else especially when it can possibly bring harm should your art incite rage from others. On inkbunny, by blocking guests, we hope to see that our art would be in an environment which wouldn't perhaps scare off others who may not like that art. It protects your art somewhat, but even better, makes it so that your art cannot be searched in public through google thus protecting that person's eyes from work they may not want to see. Having friends only does help...but the problem is, that it'd most likely be very difficult to promote commissions if people can't see your work due to fear of theft. This is not something that should be taken lightly, or ignored. Get the word out there. This is a problem. There are many deviant artists and others out there who have been harassed by this problem and you may think its alright on inkbunny...but what if I decided to just post your art somewhere random and not even credit it. You're army of fans would probably get pretty enraged and leave many comments telling the uploader to take it down, cease and desist, etc, especially if you are a respected artist.

I love so much of your art on inkbunny but to see it disrespected and a cheek turned to this really pisses me of. Don't let rule34 take advantage of you. And if you know the users who are on rule34 uploading these images without permission, bring them to justice, whether it be telling them to stop, or doing what you know is right.

Please, we can't let this go anymore. This is not something to be ignored when it is not only clearly breaking the law of many nations, but also in bad practice and respect.

Now, one thing is that it's a booru site. http://booru.org/create. There are so many boorus and so much art theft because people think it's okay to just dawdle off with someone's art that they have no permission to touch. However, while booru is not the cause of why this happens, they are somewhat responsible for a website that caused all this mischief. Perhaps we can reason with them to create a safer environment or to cease and desist booru entirely without any complication.

Brush up on your copyright laws. One most important thing about art

To be able to reproduce art ALL, they need source to permission.
If the artist forbids it, it is breaking the law. Especially without even the artists permission at all.

Sweetcornchan was the most recent victim and the email we got was a little more harsh than what was said here. But this GenJubilationTCorpnone is an admin from the website.

Edit: Another thing to consider is that someone uploads your art to another site right? Did it find its way there through other websites? Sometimes. But you know what else? It can find it's way to other websites from rule34. That alone is a huge problem.

One of their rules btw :

29. Do not upload pics from artists/sites on the Do Not Post (DNP) list, with the following exceptions: some artists/sites allow free pics to be uploaded while prohibiting other pics they are charging for. The pics themselves typically say which type they are (for instance "Do Not Distribute" or similar). See the specific entry for the artist/site. Note: some pics say "Do Not Distribute" or similar when the artist is not on the DNP list. In this case, the command can be ignored and the picture uploaded.
Taken from the rules from the website:  http://rule34.paheal.net/wiki/rules   <--- Point 29

So If you are an artist and don't want your stuff there? Well, they don't care unless you are on their list. They basicly saying its okay to take the picture anyways even though you say " NO!".  THIS IS AGAINST THE LAW http://www.expertlaw.com/forums/showthread.php?t=147057 . Even if you don't post any " Do not distripute" on your Art , they are still not allow to take it and post it somewhere else.
The fact that you have to be on their DNP list to not have your pictures uploaded proves that the site is promoting Art theft.

I think everyone should demand to be on the list then.

THANK YOU that site needs to burn. I have everything about Rule 34 and sites like it = =;;;

And I especially don't like the people on there either. It seems all they do is take others art to bash it at will on this site and it's so hurtful the things they will say about that persons art work that they put so much effort into. It simply disgusting and wrong.

I very much agree with you. That site needs to be taken down along with others.
