I really should of said this in the previous journal but I neglected to and I've been hit by a whole bunch of comments from people begging to be a beta tester. Now about a year ago Aval0n had made a list consisting of people who asked if they could be a beta tester. Unfortunately, I don't have that list and to be honest he mentioned that about 200 names were on it and I'm not really cool with that many people trying out this game. It's the same reason why I'm not okay with posting the beta on Inkbunny for fans to test them out. Last time we did that, Aval0n and I were hit with so many messages pointing out things we had already fixed. The comment section became littered with 10 to 20 page reports of mistakes that had already been pointed out earlier in the comments.
I know the fans want to help but it's very much true what they say. Too many cooks spoil the soup. Along with the team we've had on had to edit the scripts to make sure the spelling errors are at a minimum, I've also already arranged a clandestine team of beta testers to work out the bugs and to make sure that when this game is submitted it works the first time. I know there was a lot of people hoping for a chance to play the game early but it's just not feasible. I keep fearing that the insanity of it all has really gotten to Aval0n, and feel maybe that's why I haven't been able to chat with him that often.
In the mean time, I'd like to share something else with you all while I have your attention. While taking a small break from the babysitting game, I'm attempting to revive a small project of mine in Fur Affinity. I may of posted this in a previous journal, though I may have deleted that one I'm not sure. After dealing with sonic characters I'm in the mood for pokemon again.
I really wish I could pose these pokemon loops here but because of Inkbunny's no human policy I can't. I am currently working on a flash between a Nidoking and his trainer and hopefully I'll have it done soon. ^v^
I do remember the time when that happened, so many comments it took forever to even load the game :( Fair enough on the beta testing if there's already supposedly 200 people! Tho if there's any other way in which we can help let us know ^-^ Sounds like you can't get in contact with Avalon? Hope he's alright

Oh yeah there were quite a few comments stating the exact same problem. I'm pretty sure that if you made a list now you probably would get like 2000 people asking to beta test the game. Still there's a lot of time for relaxation for me until it comes out so until then I...will read a good book lol.

I kinda figured the people asking for beta testing wouldn't get to. That's why I didn't ask. That and I'm retard and horrible with spotting spelling and grammar problems. Every site seems to have it's flaws. AF won't let cub porn on and InkBunny doesn't do Humans. I think the Human one is less reasonable. What can you do really?

I only think it would be cool. With my workload, I just don't have time to play the game and take extensive notes, which is what beta testing should be about.Much though I love the Game my other projects take precedence.Sorry if I added to the log jam :( Altho I still offer my artistic services, if I can help.)

I've been looking more closely at creator reactions to fan reactions, and being kind of depressed by humanity; TvTropes has entirely to many entries for things like FanDumb, CreatorDisillusionment, etc.
These are bogus stats, but in my opinion, 90% of the nutters comment and message and email and such, but only 10% of the normal people do, because they're busy being chill and normal. Thus, even though reasonable people far outnumber the nutters, they may be drowned out.
You and Avalon just remember; you are under NO obligation to us; zip, zilch, nada. If you see comments or messages that get you down, just ignore or delete them, because there are ten other people satisfied enough to not message you. Salaam.

It might be faster and more effective to beta test it yourself, since you know the code well. That way, if you find a problem, you'll have a hunch about what might be causing it. On the other hand, having a couple people check it is good for catching spelling errors.

that is the thing with testing. Of course you will read alot of times the same found mistakes. That shows that this is something that didn't appeared just once but alot more times. And then working out all the stuff. Yeah. quite a nusiance. :) But still worth it at the end.

why 200, should be a group of 5-10 and give them a week to test then have them send in there lists compare what they have all noticed as bugs and problems in the game then make your own list from that fix what you can send a fixed copy and give them a neither week and you should be just about done with that for bugs. Hope it all turns out all right.

The too many cooks thing is a great answer to the why beta question. I never thought of that, having too many people reporting would get very annoying! I won't complain about betas again :)

My thoughts always were and are that the more people testing the product, the better chance to find every fault. 1-10 guys might find 90% of the bugs but I guarantee you that 1000 people will find 99.9% of the bugs.
But at the end of the day, it's only a small game so 1-10 would more than be enough ;)

I thought that something like that would be the problem. Noone seems to read the comments when posting about an glitch so there are so many repeats so having fans beta test would lead to thousands of pointless posts...

"no human policy" lol but i felt sooo welcome here.... awwww nobody wavnts me.... :(
Avian a quick Suggestion you might want to consider is asking people with REAL skills to beta test your work. On the futanari palace there is a section for SLAVE MAKER 3 and the guy that leads the project is VERY kind and helpfull. His name on the board is CMACLEOD and maybe asking him to look at your work will do the project some good. When ever i have problems with my work i show it to him and he rewrites the thing to make is workable... making me look lazy in the proccess ehehehee...
Anyway try it out it might be worth it and you might make new friends.
