Torchwood : miracle day (there may be spoilers)

by
So end the season 4 of Torchwood. It wasn't as good as Children of Earth (I can't watch this one again, I cry) but I think overall it was good. I was told the last episode was not good, but it was ok in my book.

The quality of the serie is different per episodes. At times, it has really good scenes, while at others it's seem like they are filling up time or being plain stupid. So many times I guessed things and looked at the characters ignoring it. The soldiers looked at the traitor explodes himself... when he started to pray I would have shot him or jump out immediatly. Or the CIA deciding to hunt the mole, but not stopping peoples from entering and leaving the office. If the system works that fast, you keep everyone to be sure they don't flee !

But at other times, so many nice scenes. Gwen with the overflow camp, or Rex with the blood in him (I would have done the same myself). And the characters, Rex and Ester started hollow. I was afraid they would be totally eaten by the returning cast. But after a few episodes, they grew up, they got lines, personnalities. I liked them (too bad they killed Ester). Too bad what they did with Rex...

Overall, I would give the serie a 6/10 rating. It was stretched at times, it's dissapointing while they had a good starting idea, good cast and some good ideas.

On another note, just a little personnal rant unrelated to Torchwhood : I wanted to post my wow stuff I wrote to entertain players, since I can't make a website for lack of skills. Joined a site. First reply was complaint about the fact I didn't listed the sources. More than half the messages was complains about the lack of sources. Not discussing the ideas, interpretations, just complaints about the sources. Not even caring to ask for which part they wanted the sources (the sources per document goes up to hundreds), just complaining.

Rex being immortal doesn't make sense. Jack's blood was nothing special, like he said himself many times. Rose made Jack live as a matter of fact. Jack specifically. It doesn't make sense that Rex is now immortal just because he had Jack's blood in him.

As I said, too bad what they did with Rex. It really doesn't make any sense. Jack is immortal only because he is a fixed point in time. Best explanation I have is that they was some interaction between the Blessing and Rex and he has regenerative abilities, but I hope it's not something worst. But we'll see in Season 5. Owen becoming immortal in season 2 was a bad idea too because of the character's shtick.

i think i know what they are going for with the 'rex is immortal now' part, the 'blessing' creature that was a part of the racnoss ship that formed the central core of the earth (revealed in one of the Dr Who specials) and as it stretched from one side to the other, and it was Jacks blood that was on ethier side of the world, it could be as simple as the creature mistakenly thinking Jack is on both sides at the same time, and then the morphic field flipped back, the creature made jack immortal again, and thinking that rex was also jack, made him immortal.

if 'the blessing' creature is that old and stretches through the planet, it dont think it would be able to differentiate between any of us tiny little ants living on the surface...

all and all, i enjoied the series, though there were a few episodes where i was disappointed because NOTHING happened that was worth while

Mmm, definitely agree with some of the points you made, though I'm still looking forward to seeing what this "Plan B" the families have is. o.O

One can fear that : I mean, planning an earth-changing project is time consuming and such. I would be dissapointed if they had a plan B of the same size ready already.
