....Not to the end of the world, though sometimes it feels like it might as well be, but to my 46th birthday. *feels old* :P Not like all that many out of my 59 +watchers will even so much as wish me a "happy birthday"... :P
But anyhoo, on to cheerier thoughts...
Recently, while looking for something on YouTube, I encountered this video....
I think I found this year's most interesting song. :)
Unlike last year, which I was very impressed with the music overall (best year since 1996, in my opinion), and declared "Excuses" by the Morning Benders the best song of 2010, this year hasn't been as great- Some stragglers from last year got my attention this year ("Pigeon" by Tennis, for example), even a few songs from the furry community ("Sum" by Dead Pixel and [smallthumb]63171[/smallthumb] by
, for that squirrelly goodness!), but overall, I haven't found too much new stuff to throw on my iPod touch until now...
Anyhoo, the song that caught my attention in that first video is "Bloom" by Australian DJ Pogo, which you can download for free (if you want- It's a "name your price" download, and if you enter "0" for the price, you will get a direct download without PayPal) at Pogo's site at PogoMix.net.
But in finding "Bloom", I found another song he mixed, called "Mellow Brick Road", which while "Bloom" is made from snippets of Disney movies, "Mellow Brick Road" is more obvios- It's all samples taken from "The Wizard of Oz". However, there are two videos worth showing here: A retelling of the entire movie in 4 minutes using cutouts in Adobe Flash (First-place winner in a video competition for the song); and the DJ as a stick figure REALLY getting into the song (Second-place winner, out of some 44 submissions).
Pogo's style is a rather mellow glitch-style mixing, very reminiscent of The Art of Noise from.....thirty years ago. :)
Oh, well... Something to tide me over until my birthday... :P
Honestly, I have no idea what'll happen or how it'll turn out, but I'm lucky if two or three even remember it, it seems. I'd like to be convinced otherwise, but I can't force anyone to do so. :P

It's still a month away. :P Honestly, I have no idea what'll happen or how it'll turn out, but I'm
I expect very little, but I thought if I gave enough early warning, perhaps I won't feel as forgotten as in past years. :P
Actually, I do feel old-- I'm one of the oldest survivors of congenital rubella syndrome from the rubella epidemic of the mid-1960s. Every day I jave lived that much longer, and survived a terminal condition that should've killed my in infancy 46 years ago. While most at 46 could expect to see another 30, 40, even 50 years, I don't expect to live more than another 10-15 years, if I'm lucky.

>_< [hugs] Well I'm glad you've lasted this long. That really sucks that you're not going to live much longer. =( Sorry no one can seem to do much to change that. =/

Ah, yes. The things that drive that duck quackers. :p
Still, I can understand why they would wish you happy birthday now. After all, there's still a good chance they'll still forget when the day rolls around so they're making sure they're getting their wishes in while they still remember them.
