Color Commissions (Updated)

by
PLEASE READ THIS WHOLE JOURNAL BEFORE ASKING FOR A COMMISSION.

First of all, if you are not the artist of the picture, you must get permission from the artist to have me color it. I know there are several artists who are either picky about who colors their works, or don't want them colored by anyone at all, and I don't want to deal with bullshit rage from an artist just because I splashed some digital color on some of their lineart. I would prefer that the artist notes me or something personally, but I don't realistically expect that, as it is a bit of a hassle.

NOTE: The following artists have given advance permission for me to color their works.

If you are an artist and wish to be added to this list, just send me a note.

Once permission is granted, send me a link to the image(s) via note or a reply to this journal, and I will review it for coloration. There are certain topics that I WILL NOT touch. Among these are scat, watersports, and super-detailed gore. There are plenty of "borderline" topics, which I will take into consideration on a case-by-case basis. NOTE: Females, herms, and cunt-boys are not a guaranteed "no", though I will turn down any that squick me.

Pricing:

Simple characters: $5 each

Complex characters*: $10 each

Backgrounds**: To be discussed

Shading***: To be discussed

* Complex characters are ones whose designs have excessive elements, such as wings. Design elements such as tiger stripes or dalmatian spots are not considered complex unless they are done to an extreme. If you're not sure if your character would be considered complex, feel free to ask.

** I will not draw or add a background to any image. Plain, single-color backgrounds will not be charged for. If the image has a background drawn into it, I will color it for a fee, which will depend on the complexity and number of background elements. This will be priced on a case-by-case basis, and applies to most "props". As with character complexity, if you're unsure, just ask.

*** I'm still new with shading, but I'd be willing to give it a try. However, this step would likely be fairly costly since it's far more time-consuming (usually) than doing just flat colors. Examples can be seen below. (Note: All example pictures were colored using layered SAI files, which yields the best results.)

Flat colors: https://inkbunny.net/submissionview.php?id=91701

Soft shading: https://inkbunny.net/submissionview.php?id=90057&pa...

Please note that with any pictures I color, I retain the right to post them in my own gallery as examples. This is one thing to keep in mind, and another reason I require artist permission to work on things. As for file type, I would seriously prefer a layered SAI or PSD file (or a large, high-quality PNG), as these are the easiest to work with. I can work with a smaller JPG/PNG/GIF, but I can't guarantee the quality of the work. If the image was drawn in SAI or Photoshop, you can always ask the artist for a copy of the original if they still have it.

If you would like for me to stream the coloring of your pics, I can certainly do that, but just remember that I'm not super-fast. I'm a perfectionist with OCD/OCPD, which does slow me down. Streams can also be publicly announced, or kept private. If you want it streamed, we will have to discuss a date and time in advance since I do work a full-time job during the week, and occasionally on weekends. I also may have to split it into multiple streams if I don't think I can finish it in one go, or if something comes up.

All flats will be done in the order that the requests are received. Shading and/or excessive/complex details may be pushed back temporarily to allow time to work on other images. If your image gets pushed back for this reason, you can opt to pay part of the commission cost to get the flats-only version in advance for posting until the image is completed, at which point the remainder of the cost will be due. I'm attempting to be as flexible as possible while also getting people their images in a timely fashion, which is why I'm now offering this option.

I'm not taking "slots", so if you want more than one picture colored, feel free to ask for it. I also don't plan to stop taking these any time soon, so feel free to ask at any time. If you have any other questions at all, just leave a comment here or note me.

Checks, no. I'd be willing to take a money order as payment, I would just hold the finished image until it arrived.

Judging by your comment, I take it you think I'm an artist? Just clarifying, because I'm only a colorist; I don't draw anything.
