FA Bitch Move

For those that have left FA (and most for good reason), here is Dragoneer's newest dick move.

In their TOS, it specifically states that FA will not participate in link tracking. What link tracking basically is a way to track where you go, even after you leave a page. Some even go so far as to get private information about you (like name, age, where you live, etc). Well, FA decided to start implementing link tracking. Bonus move, they did it without updating their TOS.

Dragoneer's defense for this action is this: We are in the process of updating our TOS to include this change and furthermore, it was a only a test. Really, that is the best you can do after you broke U.S. Law? I'm sorry, but a serious change like that should have been made before the test. My desire to leave FA completely yet grows again. Not only have they done their witch hunt, but now they do this.

On top of that, Dragoneer tries to sell that the service they are using (viglink) doesn't obtain private information. Yet VigLink specifically mentions how it uses private, track able information on a person's habits. Well that's odd, they admit that they gather personal information yet Fuckoneer says they don't.

Really, if Inkbunny can convert a couple of the big name artist to transfer over, I think FA's days will be numbered.

Wow that some serious shit my friend. I might end up leaving FA myself if they're really taking ppl's personal info.

Well, it sounds like the personal info jazz is if you sign up for the Pro version.

I mean, I can understand why they want to do it. I'm just pissed at how they did it. Underhandedly, secretly, and didn't apologize for what they did (Sorry, but, we're working on changing the TOS doesn't cut it). Hell, took them 14 hours to post a notice on the FA main page after it was brought up on the forums.

Oh ok. But still that's pretty low even for FA. Just what are they trying to do anyway?

Basically they get money if users do a certain action or something. If I understand everything right, if you go to certain sites and buy items, FA gets a commission on that sale. So they are trying to bring in a new source of revenue to offset the costs of running a site (like server space and hardware and all that stuff).

Seriously? So that's how they expect to bring in new money, by using our personal information they plan on taking a piece of whatever we spend? And this is just for those that are on the Pro Version? Isn't that basically stealing from the other companies in which we purchase from?
