Ohhhh.... I would have figured that place would stop mattering to anybody, After the many exploits and insecurities pointed out but never fixed until forced to by a major attack, Or all the rule changes, and discussion on future rule change implementations that further limit acceptable content, Or the blatant miscommunication between admins, Or the blatant favoritism among the admins there.

I just figured ya know.. No one smart used FA anymore. At all.

"I have friends still on FA" is what keeps most folks there I imagine. An entire community cannot migrate until a sufficient amount of people cut away. Or until the service catastrophically fails. But because there are sooo many admins, FA is at the very least, mostly protected from full destruction. THere will alwase be someone willing to "pick it up" at this point.

What I hate is there are no real written rules....so you do not know if you crossed the line till they remove your stuff, usually without a good reason other than someone complained. AND it seems like theres a lot of people who just do not like porn of any kind pointing things out at every opportunity.

Oh funny story too...a month ago, I did an icon of an ass shot with a rainbow coming out. Someone was going to report it because bare asses are not allowed. Well bare ass icons, usually with tail raised as long as they dont show the hole or balls are extremely popular on FA...

so I asked an Admin...they said yes, they were against the rules...I go have you looked around? People have been selling them for over a year and even Narse has one. They said they would look into it and Narse would have to remove his if thats true...needless to say Narse's has not been removed. =D

The donation thing they use I believe told them cub had to go or they lost their contract or something. That's what happened to Sofurry's Alertpay. Just Tormund(sp) said Fuck you we don't need you. Idk if that's fully accuret, it's what i heard from my master.

True...but they also ban ALL adult art, not just cub. So its just a scam. If they want to run an adult site they can take credit cards directly. Geez, I knew small adult BBS's with 10 people able to be on at once ten years taking credit cards and the only cost is a few hundred $ set up and like 3% off transactions. So the whole trying to get a donation system back is just a scam or laziness.

I remember my first ban on FA, I won an argument with a admin on the forums, it was for 3 months.

oh the forums are even worse...the admins there are total jerks and yes if you hold an opposite view from one, even documented, they ban you. Definitely not a free speech place but a place for suckups.

Maybe you should go read the 1st Amendment again. Free speech is only protected against government control/limitation. Dragoneer owns and operates FA. It is his right to limit and control the material that is on his private websites. You have no rights on FA except for those that are given to you by the admins. Break those, and you will be banned. Arguing against an admin is just stupid and immature. If you feel they are wrong, report the matter privately to the other admins. Don't make a public scene out of it. Admins have to be seen as having absolute authority on a website. Otherwise why would anyone listen to warnings handed out if they felt the admins couldn't do anything about it.

No one said it was a guarantee...but furaffinity was founded on free expression when Sheezyart started banning things...and that's why they got big....now they are doing exactly what killed Sheezy...the interwebs are a fickle thing and you can be tops one day and nothing the next...anyone remember compuserve? AOL? =D

Lol....perhaps you haven't heard of thing called fair use...which includes parody. Copyright violation would be using their images, not creating my own. Putting their characters in a sexual situation could easily be shown to be parody and does not violate their copyright in the least for a number of other legal reasons.

Well, that's sort of right and kind of wrong.

Wikipedia on Fair Use wrote:

In this case, FA or their lawyers, (if they're wise/rich enough to retain any), might have decided that your work was satire rather than parody, as it was intended to criticize FA rather than Tiny Toon Adventures. This would have made it harder for them to argue to a court that your work fell under Fair Use provisions, should it ever have come to that. (And when you think about it, going to court to defend your right to use Amblin Entertainment's characters to call them a bunch of sex-nazis would kinda make them look like a bunch of tools. I mean, you're making fun of them and they'd be spending their own scarce operating funds to help you do it. That would be ethical integrity, but would it be steadfast or taken to moronic extremes?)

However, I will agree that banning you on second offense was a little heavy-handed. At any rate, the ban will have been lifted by now, (Irene permitting). So what's next for you?

Ah, yes, FA... It's funny; that used to be my favourite website as of one year ago. Then their policies began an exponential downward spiral. After their cub ban, everything fell apart with all sorts of arbitrary and unspoken rules, not to mention security issues, etc. It's very rare that I visit FA anymore, but when I do, I always find a good laugh as a result of the lot being all at sixes and sevens.

It has just become my mission to find and exploit every hole and double standard FA has in it's AUP. I will forge journal after journal about them until I am banned for raising my voice! They want a fight (licks blade) they got one......

eh I wouldn't bother they really aren't worth it, just realize what they are, people who do not realize its the users that make a site worthwhile and you can't continually screw them over and not have it come back to haunt you.

I would leave it be but I have poking my head around Dragoneer's favorites list I have found artwork CLEARLY against AUP (being most obviously cub art) and if there's one thing that rubs my fur the wrong way it is a hypocrite.

I know how you feel. A few days ago when they started changing the rules that at one point were set in stone and clearly stating that they would "add things to the AUP as seen fit". So basically, depending on time of the month it would seem.

A few points that I took interest in were the "banning" of anything photograph related to "fetish stuff". Allow me to sum this up. Basically, any pictures of people or fur suits made of latex, rubber, wearing latex/ rubber, leather, bondage gear, etc. etc. etc. And also stating that photos should be limited to only things that the poster made themselves.

Well... that just about clears out 85-90% of the fursuit pictures off of FA. You know, for wanting to be this big and all powerful furry community site, they are certainly trying their damnedest to drive it straight into the ground. I'm fast losing all respect for FA and am seriously contemplating switching over to like here and making this my primary main posting site as the rules are about what they were like when I first came upon FA.

And I do agree with you... Tiny Toons were in college. Well, Acme Looniversity. So, not even college... straight up University.

Ya I saw that rule and immediately thot of you, lol. Its funny I came across some fursuit photos that had a harness around the chest...that would be banned now...I mean even collars and leashes could be banned which is just silly. They really should just go all out and ban adult art and go down in a flaming pile of ashes.

FA has been ready to implode for the past year at least; however, the recent merger *appears* to be resulting in something of a putsch on the original ruling class... nearly all of the old admins are getting their collective asses handed to them. (How do you hand an ass his ass?) I have no direct evidence of this beyond encouraging statements issued by Fender. However, one may hope.

I'm afraid that the scent on the wind is that FA is dying a grisly death by snobbery.

A point, you has one. Like many, I'm only there to keep up with various artists that I enjoy. My leaving FA would not be noticed (I pulled all of my art, journals, and writing, and no one noticed, believe me). Only when someone of the Zen / Shiuk / Blotch level leaves will anything be felt. Get someone with many thousand Watchers to depart, and watch those Watchers trade teams in a heartbeat.

Doing a tiny toons picture without boobs just goes to make it appear more child like. Tiny toons would be seen by the general public to be "kids" that would grow up to be the loony toons. You did a picture in which they all have bigger bodies, meaning that as a whole it looks like they all remained the same size. Then reposting it censured shows that you knew why it have been removed but just didn't care. Hence the ban.

The main problem about FA isn't limited there. The Burned Furs, now known as "Clean Furs" are 'cleaning up' the fandom. Hopefully like the burned furs, they'll eventually go out of style, but maybe not. They are trying to get themselves accepted by society by getting rid of any real life sexual material that could relate to furry (hence the fetish ban on FA). However, many of these people have extreme fetish pieces in their gallery (extreme like say vore, incest, or tentacle rape). It's kinda odd considering that it's exactly that type of material and art that is making furs be on the outskirts of society.

No I didnt do them bigger, I did them WITH boobs (going along with FA's own guidelines to make things appear older) and longer limbs, not bigger. All cartoons appear childlike...neotony features.

And dont agree, I censored it after it was removed, I didnt think anything was wrong with it as I followed their own guidelines (jump thru their hoop and get smacked down anyway, make the admins feel powerful I suppose) I posted a NEW pic with all adult things censored...why would a censored cleaned pic get me banned when there was nothing adult left in it? who knows.

And agreed about the burned furs...its not about any fetish, its them trying to get rid of all adult step by step and dragoneer seems to be listening as he continually brags about how the majority of submissions are clean....however if you count only submissions by adults (since under 18 (the majority of users) cant post them) and only art...that would probably be a lot different statistics, as I know clean stuff doesnt get views there, only adult stuff by a magnitude of at least x20

IB Not far from 57,000
FA 700,000 or something.
But you really can't ignore the numbers of IB and SF combined.
Two separate sites, but still, it's over 200,000 once you place them together, and both Furry Dedicated sites as well.
People aren't staying on FA as much anymore, and it's getting obvious.

for a few months at a time. I took it down, knowing fairly well, eventually someone would realize, that I was lying through my teeth about Ogo's age.
Thanks 1,000 to Chris for drawing him originally, or I wouldn't have gotten the idea to do that piece.

Agreed and every rule they make sends large groups over here and SF...the people who run the two sites should thanks FA personally for their new rules and hope they keep up the good work....cuz eventually it will turn into a clean site step by step and it will go the way of Sheezy.

Lol thats the thing, they are slowly outlawing all adult cartoons...all fan art, since almost all those characters are under 18. And its stupid...its not cub, its not even "child" porn. No one looks at sonic and then looks at mickey mouse, which share the same style and look almost and goo hmm, sonic is so much sexier cuz he's 16 and mickey is just ugly because he's techinically 50. That would be a funny picture tho =D

totally agreed....in 3 years I have had NO problems with sofurry, except 1 submission being removed for being "too human" and no problems with inkbunny in a year at all. The features here are awesome compared to FA and both sites regularly put in place improvements.

in 3 years at FA I have been trolled with admin encouragement of the trolls, harassed with admins not doing anything about it, had submissions removed because the admin didn't like its message (since art with censor blocks removing anything mature by definition are not mature, except in the viewers own mind - sick fuckers, theyre only hugging or playing twister :-D), been suspended now for posting a new version of a pic taken down, been threatened by admins, had admins refuse to tell me the rules, etc...and agreed, its becoming a furry facebook, without anything cool and there are 2 much better sites that do that now.

Those idiots wouldn't help me get my original profile back when it was hacked. For 1 they have the sorriest security system and protocols put in place I've ever seen for a site as popular as it is. 2 they're dumb enough not to know if someones account is hacked anything can be changed if that person wishes to do so. When the birth dates didn't match they pulled my adult privlidges from my new account they told me I had to make cause they wont help me get my old one back. The last straw is how dumb they are that I strut around saying I have 2 accounts and one is simply for adult art cause they wont let me look at adult content on my other. They pick and choose who they want to harass for their own personal reasons. If I had to make a lasting comment it would be they are just trolls who wanted a website to control what their users post and say depending on their own areas of interest. I want to say that I love inkbunny. this is my favorite site to meet artists and browse and fav art. lol sorry for ranting but it's pent up rage about FA I don't often get to release. X3
