Can I has Patreons?

http://www.patreon.com/coyotek

I have set up one for myself. Not really know how it works yet, will figure it out as time progresses. So far I thought about posting high-resolution inks and coloured works, both anthro and human. But it rescales the images I upload, so a makeshift solution for this now is download links >_>
Also I dont really think I'll get much traffic there with only that, not to mention that there are other, more popular artists who jumped on the bandwagon a few months ago...
Anyways another idea was starting to post censored works here and uncensored on Patreon, but I bet my ass that would cause amazing levels of butthurt. Its very tempting, as being one of the administrator kind (not on any furry page) pissing of people runs through my veins... or just create Patreon exclusive content, like image series?
And yet another idea would be streams as I didnt do those in ages and something like an "idea sharing" where I would post ideas for pictures with rough sketches for users input. Or maybe a raffle once every X time period, between all of my patrons for some simple pin-up styled ink. I dont know, will need to put a lot of thought into this projects future...

Yeah, I created it for a trial period and I'm giving it time till the end of the year. If I'll reach a satisfying ammount of activity there, I'll keep it, if it will be dead (so far I only have 3 patrons, thats a whole lot of derp) I'll shut it down and repercussions may follow~

i would try something like this person is doing.

also, if you get backers, offer more commissions, or at least, make them non furbuy ones where there wouldn't be an auction for them. your current price id say is very affordable. as well, if you want to make exclusive content for patreon, don't keep it that way indefinitely. Have backers get access to it first, in hi-res, then put on the rest of the web in lower res raffles and asks are also good things to have, and same should apply on accessibility

also, maybe this could be a chance you could do a comic, maybe you do the line work, and collaborate with another artist who colors, and someone who writes. Finally, maybe instead of posting censored works, just dont.

I know i may not be the best business man, but i do know the internet works. its all about access, and by creating a pay-wall of any kind will only lead to spite from people, and eventually privacy. Crowd-funding should give more access to everyone, not limit it. just this week, wetblush, a paysite, became public through patreon!

Just my two cents, you'd still make a decent amount doing any of the following. :P

This is pretty much a repeat of your comments from FA, so I'm just going to address things that I didnt reply to yet.
Art is just my hobby, I have limited free time so commissions from me are rare (as I also like to work on personal pictures) and its hard to find a way of taking them to make everyone happy (auction="money bullies", slots=time zones, raffles=too random).
Comics are out of question as they take ages and (as I already mentioned) I have limited time, plus I dont have the needed work-ethic to work on a long term projects.
Collaborations, I did only one of those and meh, I didnt find it amusing, trades are a lot better.

Sounds reasonable. time sure is a cruel thing though

if you have a limited amount of patrons but reach your goal you set, a raffle sounds good. a smaller amount of people means more likely someone can win. and when they win, have it only a person allowed to win only once or so a year or something. also doing 'YCH' raffles as well might help for time constraints, and it also sort of helps with your idea sharing a bit, depending on the image.

Patreon raffles are a sure when I'll reach the goal ammount. The winning person will be excluded from the next two raffles, thats what I though of so far. YCH commissions will be a regular, open for all event, planning to launch my first one soon, most likely in October~

I don't like the idea of censored works, or Patreon-exclusive content :P However, high-resolution for patrons only is fine with me. Early previews and/or streams sounds like a good use too. But I don't think people who don't pay should get less than what they're currently seeing from you :)

Well, I wouldnt censor art as I'm not that huge of a dick. High resolution art is a sure. "Idea sharing" sketches are also. Same goes for "free" art raffles after reaching the satisfying number of patrons. Exclusive content most likely wont happen~

You might not need to do patreon-exclusive content. Try seeing if just having one works and go from there.

Will see, so far the interest is below my expectations~
