I was a big fan of the original, having watched it back as a kid in the early 80s during its original run. But I also watched a bit of it as an adult, and became acutely aware of its shortcomings. (The dialogue was haughty and stilted, like something out of William Shatner's nightmares. The characters were cardboard cut-outs, with almost no substance to speak of. And the series was very episodic, with very little plot or character development from episode to episode.) It was definitely one of those shows that seems better through the eyes of a child than it actually was.
With that said, I am very impressed by the new series. Whoever created it obviously took care to keep as much of the original series material and characters intact while remedying many of the problems. It's hard to judge a series based on one episode, but I think it has great potential.
The Thundercats remake? I wasn't disappointed with the pilot, though I am upset at Cartoon Network's inability to show any sort of encore for it yet. Looking forward to more.

Yeah, I expected an encore of it as well...But I like it as well. They even get brownie points for casting the original Liono's VA as New Liono's Dad. :3 But you have to give them credit, Kittoradra. They're starting to show/ and or listen to the people in the network who STILL know what they're doing. Now, if they decide to give us Toonami back... Now THAT would be awesome!

The VA was one of the first thing I noticed. I recognized a few other voices, but I can't quite pick out from where. And I'm glad someone's finally starting to listen to the viewers and people who know what's good. Kinda wish they'd do more Swat Kats too, since they've known that one was always good enough to leave on Boomerang

I agree. But even then, some of those characters were high octane furry fetish fuel. What do you think they'd be if they'd get the same revamp treatment... ? AWESOME!!! :P

About a hundred more watchers regularly? Seriously, I've seen all the episodes of Swat Kats and I still turn it back on for more when I get the chance. It's obviously still a great show, so what's keeping them from cashing in on it with new episodes?

I loved it! I am excited to see the rest of the series.
I love what they did with Snarf. He's still cute and awkward, but not annoying. The Wileys (Formerly theThunderkittens) are great, also. I can't wait to see more of them.
I missed the cameo of Lynx-O, but I am hoping he comes back, along with Ben-Gali and Pumyra, even if it is just as cameo characters.

I still can't get over how contradictory that sounds... putting a blind guy on look out. I know he has good smell and other senses, but seriously run that scenario in your head- not counting the smell and hearing XD

The kits could be annoying, but nowhere near as annoying as snarf was. And when I explained Snarfer (Snarf's even-more annoying nephew) to someone, her response was "Oh my god. A younger, smaller, more-annoying family member? They totally scrappy-doo'd him." I'd never made that connection before, but it was completely apt.
