Hell, it's about time.

...for this install to be complete. I mean, I bought the game at midnight (actually the purchase was final at 11:57, but they couldn't let us leave the store with it until midnight sharp--they let us pre-order folks have a SLIGHT time advantage) and it's only now completing the install.

Poor Zephie won't have his complete for a while yet--even though his DVD drive runs faster than mine due to not being limited by a USB cable (my internal DVD drive suffers from horrible error rates), he's had bad sector errors on his hard disk force him to restart the install about three times.

Aaaaand now it's going through patch updates and saying I should probably update my video card driver. Given that the driver is a full version number behind the one I'm now downloading off the manufacturer's website, I'd say that's a good bet.

I shall. I'm only partway into the main campaign mode, and haven't tried multiplayer since beta, so we'll see. So far it's extremely awesome, and that's saying a lot considering how meh I am about RTSes in general. In terms of pacing and difficulty it seems very similar to Warcraft III, which had the best pacing and difficulty of all the RTSes I've played. ...Which is to say I had to cheat my way through WC1 and WC2 because I was simultaneously bored and frustrated... while WC3 I did entirely without cheats, and I believe completely on Normal difficulty. I intend to do the same with SC2, and probably go back and get some of the Hard mode achievements for the campaign. I don't know yet if I'll even attempt anything on Brutal.

...Then again, playing in a competitive multiplayer ladder might be even WORSE than Brutal difficulty campaign missions. XD

Please tell me you're not referring to the newest RTS on the block lovingly referred to by all the rabid fanboys as "The greatest game since OOT"...

I understand how some people like RTS games, but so many people are so enthralled by Starcraft 2 (Which apparently only holds the full 33-some mission campaign of ONE of the major races) when it's really just another sci-fi RTS in a genre dominated by Sci-Fi themed settings.

Personally I never enjoyed micromanagement on the scale of RTS'es. I can handle DA:O Micromanagement because that's 1-2 characters that really need micromanagement if you set up your non-mage's tactics right, but having to manage resources, troops, etc. on such a large battlefield is just intimidating for me...

Uhhh... I am... unless you know of another major game released on July 27th...

Honestly, I'm not extraordinarily into RTS games myself, but I do enjoy the single-player mode and it's rather fun to play. Just because it's not the earth-shattering deity some people say it is doesn't mean it's not a good game for me to play.
