Who really gives a goddamn about this supposed merger between FA and who-the-fuckever-it-is?
Not I, said the captain!
Being about as far removed from the equation as I can possibly be (neither starting, nor ending, nor continuing any drama about that issue over there), I notice that there's a pretty even divide about the whole matter and, once again, the admins are being so delightfully vague about details and information regarding the whole thing, I'm reminded of another company that kept it's users in the dark about a growing issue until the whole thing blew up in their faces.
Sony.
Remember that whole blackout issue with private data being hacked, pirated, compromised, and otherwise left on the side of the road in a crumpled heap? Sony *knew* about it and instead of doing the right thing and alerting and assuaging their customers (i.e. everyone who had data on the PS Network), they tried to handle it and be vague about it until there was no way they could avoid the awful truth: not only had they not told the whole story to their users, they'd lied about how deep the shit they were in *really was*.
Given that a majority of furries are, regardless of the non-interconnectedness, gamers, one would think that being completely open and honest about it would be a good thing. Being up front about ALL of the changes and ALL of the details such that when the inevitable rock meets the hard place, things will be easier to handle.
And it will. Inkbunny is given PROOF that the admins at FA fail at being good at keeping their users informed and, more to the point, working for the users instead of against them.
Now, before anyone thinks I'm ranting, remember, I could really honestly care two shits *LESS* about FA. I go there to look at porn and little else. It has no real redeeming value aside from the few friends I have there who still post art there. Some of them, as I've recently found out, are afraid of the admins. Afraid that their art will get them banned or suspended or ridiculed. And the admins promulgate this notion by both their ineffective stratagem of being largely incompetent at what they do and by the fact that most of them are, for lack of a better term, trolls. Don't believe me? S'fine. You don't have to *coughwitchiebunnycough*.
Excuse me. Something in my throat there. Not really sure how it translated to my fingers...
Anyhow, I'm getting off topic. This merger has just as much chance to succeed as it does to fail, but really, who cares? So you go to one site instead of two? Sooooo you have to expend even less effort to find your wanky wank for the day? Am I making broad generalizations?
Yep. Because I still can't really find anything *solid* to go on about it. And regardless of my apathy for the site, I still constitute as a user. And as a user, I'm vaguely offended that something this big is being handled so poorly or without any real clarity. Who knows? Maybe it has been.
Maybe I would care more. Oh wait. Care about a website that has bigots, racists, bullies, and liars for its staff?
Sure. I'll get right on that.
P.S. Yes, I'm well aware that this journal is incredibly inflammatory and mean-spirited and is designed to make people upset. It's my journal. I have the right to write what I want without actually being any of those terms I just said. Besides, prove me wrong. Prove me wrong when a friend of mine is *still* suspended for TEN YEARS over something so monumentally not worth it. When he had to beg the all-powerful site god to let him transfer his stuff out.
I don't care. If there is something that life has taught me, it's that there are some things that should be forgiven. There are some things that should be forgotten. How the site admin of FA regards and treats his user *BY HIS ACTIONS, NOT BY HIS WORDS* is neither.
Done now. Bed time.
