The trip to England was... mmm...
First off, I hadn't slept 2 days prior to the trip, trying to train my body to sleep on the plane. So I was dead tired and, according to my brother, a bit irrational.
The flight was set for take-off at 6:30 PM. We all get in and wait, only to hear about how they need to do repairs and maintenance. The second they complete them, a huge lightning storm blankets the area. Everytime it passed, we were told it would be time to take off. But as soon as preparations to do so were made, the storm would come back. We had four or five 'false starts' before we took off around 11 PM.
When we got to the airport in London, we got caught up in immigration. Due to a computer failure and an upcoming staff strike, the line was backed up to a ridiculous degree. We spent 2 or 3 hours standing in line, just to show our passports to an immigration clerk and convince them that a pale, wiry, long-haired Japanese descendant and a dark, muscular, curly-haired Samoan descendant were brothers.
The flight itself was ok, for the most part. Despite my preparations for sleep, I still couldn't sleep on the plane. The seat couldn't tilt back and so it was impossible to get a good sleeping position. Plus, thanks to my medication, I kept getting random bouts of itchiness.
Because I couldn't sleep, I bought some headphones and watched a couple movies: WALL-E and Ice Age 3. I missed the start of WALL-E when I saw it in theaters, so that was cool. And the Ice Age movie was great! Every character and storyline was really appealing... especially the squirrel girl.
