I am in tears (nothing bad happened)

During the last steam sale I bought Walking Dead.

I read good reviews about it and I really have to say I have never played a game that makes me so uncomfortable. I had to stop playing at some point because I didn't want to do the actions I was forced to do.

And just now I finished episode 3. The part shortly before the end was a real tear jerker. I only rarely cry and only a few films and much fever video games have ever managed to do that to me.
But this one did. It's not so much a game in the classic sense. It's more like an interactive movie where you can chose who gets to live and who gets to die.
But sometimes... you can't save 'em. And you watch them die.

Anyway, it's a well made game with a much different, slower pace from other zombie games. And seeing how the decisions you made effect later gameplay is really interesting.

That game is a really does do a great job at having people question their morals.  But, the meat-locker scene was one of the most hilarious scenes ever!  You know what I am talking about.  That choice made me laugh loud and hard!

They could have done so much better though....i'm on episode 4. (but currently back on 1 because of the fucking lags..so i figured run through it again will help because the first time was just...laggy because my console hadn't played it before.) They spoil the stories sorta, the previews are to long, minimal controls, you HAVE to watch the previews ("Previously...ON the walking dead...") Larry and Lilly are fucking assholes. the graphics suck (I'm not talking about the design, i mean how they move, how their mouths move. I feel like i'm playing a PS1 game!)

I give it over all a 3/5 and the story the same. the game is just fuckin' frustrating and depressing. TellTale should have done better.

I found the faces to be very well animated. I am playing on PC though.
And graphics may not be perfect but that doesn't phase me if the gameplay is solid.

Is it that dramatic?

Yes it is very well made. You get some tough decisions to make and unlike in other games the characters react to them. Give someone shit they will remember it later.  Sometimes you have to choose between two people to save and someone wil hate you for your choice.
And that's juts the tip of the iceberg.

I know right?  Telltale really learnt their lesson from the Jurassic Park game, which wasn't BAD in concept but it had a lot of stupid inconsistencies cuz every episode had a different writer or something.  Walking Dead however, fucking amazing, really heartbreaking stuff.

Personally I love any videogame that tests one's morality, I'm kind of a sucker for that.  Also...did you lick that salt lick?

I could do that? I would have wanted to. ^^

Assuming you are talking about Telltale Games' point-click adventure game, and not that horrid FPS...

The Walking Dead is perhaps one of the most emotionally powerful, introspective, and well-crafted games I've ever seen.  I haven't been so moved by a game since Solatorobo's ending, and Solatorobo set the bar pretty f'ing high.

Glad you are enjoying it so far, Sen, but be forewarned...you will not make it to the end emotionally intact.  Nobody does.

Edit: Oh, what choices have you made so far?  Who died, who did you save?...  After playing through the game four+ times, it becomes simply amazing what decisions do and don't actually matter, what cannot be changed, and how the group reacts differently.  If only there were more choices.  I could have...

Well in episode 1 I saved Doug. I was more in camp Kenny and family for most of the time till I refused to drop the saltlick on Larry's head. I killed one of the brothers but spared the other.

Although some situations I would have handled differently if I had 100% freedom of choice.

Larry was the douchebag old man, right?  The father of that one brunette?

Yep.  That one unlikeable character who is NEVER right, but you can almost never call him out for it.

I took care of him!  I gleefully had Duck's dad bash his brains in with that salt lick!  That was one of the best decisions I've ever made!

With 100% freedom, I'd have shot Larry the minute he cold-cocked me. =p
And for the record, there is no way in which Kenny (or you) don't kill Larry with the salt block.  It's what makes the game so great, that some shit is going to happen, your perfect group is going to fall apart, it's just a matter of how you choose to handle it.  Help kill him, don't help, there is going to be someone who hates you for it, and that will have consequences way down the line.
...But why Doug?  I never save Doug, except that one time just to see the difference.

Well I thought... the girl knew my secret for one... and he helped her earlier so I thought he was a good fighter.
