Chay Plays more stuff!

Do you enjoy video games? Are you of the disposition that hearing an intelligent and well-spoken person talk about them as he plays them would be a refreshing change for once? Then Chay Plays is the place for you, where
Chaytel
Chaytel
takes you on a tour of varying games from many corners and decades and tells you more about them- and adds his own personal anecdotes! Great for a break in the middle of the day or as a binge to listen to while you work on other things.

Since the break ended, he's been playing Two Worlds, and my personal hate-favorite, Faxanadu! Which is part of the fun- by participating on the Steam Group for Chay Plays, you can have a voice to suggest or vote on other games that he'll Let's Play for you!

Go on. Have a look.

I'm half-tempted to plug my favorite YouTube LPer, but that would be wrong to plug someone when you're trying to plug your friend. ^_^;

Can't say that anything on Chay's channel really interests me, but I hope he finds more of an audience. *thumbs up*

I watched a bit of the Faxanadu one, what a painfully bad game. XD

It's... it's flawed. XD

Oh christ, Faxanadu. I liked it, but that's because I cheat relentlessly at videogames and gave myself infinite health and magic. Oh, Game Genie, you made everything better.

Gaem Djinn! The only way I could ever beat those TMNT brawlers on the NES.

I wouldn't call the first game a brawler so much as an experiment in just how much shit people would be willing to deal with before they got really upset. Second game, yeah, but it was also bullshit. Nobody played the third game because it was some terrible dross like the first one.

Then Turtles in Time came out, and there was much rejoicing.

I love really weird games like this though.

It was deeply flawed. XD

.....
I still like that game.

I mostly love the style, it had a bit of that weird metroid/castlevania 2 style
where the whole game took place in a giant maze.

except the whole game is in a gigantic Tree how weird and creative is that.
eh, that game always opened me up to new concepts.

although,
i did slip and fall and accidentally drank poison from time to time,
but those are the challenges of Faxanadu. lol.

Giant tree? Yeah, it was based very loosely off of Norse mythology; if you like that, you should read up on it. Specifically the Yggdrasil, as well as dwarves and elves. Japan loves to rip off the Norse. : )

the entire game takes place in a gigantic tree.
this image right here:
http://wiimedia.ign.com/wii/image/article/115/1151858/...

the first scene is a castle and everything else is climbing this never ending tree.
I didn't pick up on that at first, but the design of this game is amazing,
even if the game play does need a bit of work, the style and overall creativity in this
thing is wonderfully over the top.

Uh. Yeah, I know it does. That tree is based off of the Yggdrasil, the World Tree, as described in Norse eddas.
