I wouldn't call the first game a brawler so much as an experiment in just how much shit people would be willing to deal with before they got really upset. Second game, yeah, but it was also bullshit. Nobody played the third game because it was some terrible dross like the first one.
Then Turtles in Time came out, and there was much rejoicing.

Giant tree? Yeah, it was based very loosely off of Norse mythology; if you like that, you should read up on it. Specifically the Yggdrasil, as well as dwarves and elves. Japan loves to rip off the Norse. : )

the first scene is a castle and everything else is climbing this never ending tree. I didn't pick up on that at first, but the design of this game is amazing, even if the game play does need a bit of work, the style and overall creativity in this thing is wonderfully over the top.
