Rest in peace, Hiroshi Yamauchi

few people here in the United States would immediately recognize the name. but he is responsible for names we all know. this man turned Nintendo, a humble trading card company, into a gaming giant. he ran the company from 1949 until 2002.  Mario, Zelda, Metroid, Starfox, every piece of hardware and software that bears the Nintendo logo, right up to the gamecube, and at by that point, beyond, would not exist if not for him. he shaped an industry, and shaped our childhoods and imaginations. he died today at the age of 85.

Damn, I loved almost all gaming accoutrements from this intellectual genius and has inspired me to own all products from the franchise. Can't believe he's gone, he will be sore missed.

*Sigh* Another legend passed in our time...soon all the greats will be gone, and all we'll have left is modern mass-produced garbage. :(

Lived a full life, and I bet he was quite wealthy too so I'm sure he enjoyed himself while he was around.
