Anyone who knows me, knows that I adore post-apocalyptic imagery, movies, novels, etc... There's just something that fascinates me about a world that has come to a close and how the survivors (if there are any) deal with it.
A religious group claims that at 6 PM today, the world will come to an end, and the Rapture will occur. From then, the world will be consumed by disasters until the entire planet is consumed by a fireball on October 21.
The FUNNIEST parts are that they predicted the world would end in 1994, but they blamed it on a math error when nothing happened... and the fact that he says that if nothing happens, it still means the Rapture occurred, and no one can dissuade him.
Make no mistake, even though I am a firm and unapologetic atheist, I try to respect everyone's religious beliefs... But when a college professor in my Geology class actually accepts that the Earth is 6000 years old on an exam, I draw the line... And when some jack*** convinces people that the world is gonna 'splode on some random date like May 21, 2011... Well, let's just say I've got a big tub o' popcorn and I'm LOVING the commentary. X3
So, yeah, that's what I've got to say on the subject. If it turns out somehow I'm wrong, and the Rapture DOES occur... Well, as a godless heathen, I know where I'm going and I've made my peace. But somehow I think I'll wake up tomorrow and not a darned thing will have happened. ;3
