If I were to wear a Fursuit

by
It'd probably be kemono as fuck. Just saying...

It's probably completely obvious by now, but I don't find the traditional styles of "the west" (US, UK, area) to be very appealing. .. Many make me think of derrivations from Disney's The Lion King style, and they're mostly cool but never goals of my own. I know that fursuits usually depart from that style quite a bit, but they still get stuck there on that smaller eyed, less cute, slightly stylized look. So I figured I'd never wear them.

A few years back I started to stumble upon japanese Kemono fursuits, and those tickled my fancy a lot more than what I saw otherwise. So now I can safely say, something inspired by kemono artists and the common cute-ish theme maintained on the WildCritters I remember would be far more up my alley. Though, even so i'm way too timid to run around publically doing it...

I wonder If I'll ever be able to dress up as Paupe...

In the meantime, someone else is attempting to see this kind of an idea through to its fullest. I wonder if there's enough Kemono-loving folk to see her dream through~?

Haha, yeah i know that feeling. I suspect that even approaching the idea of a suit for my own character will cost me something in the thousands, so i don't even think it's possible \3

you could get one with around $1500 give or take. It's about the price of a used car |3'

It took me 6 months to save up $260 on my current paycheck with incidents and repairs in between. I figure, at this rate, it'll take me about 4-5 years (granted, i'm working part time and a full time job would change the pace of things dramatically). And factoring in that even a suit like Crackers' new one wouldn't appeal to me, I'd also have to do some real heavy research into who is capable of doing something in that kind of a style.

Part of me wants to know who the creator of the project I linked will be going to, so I could try and do the same. |3

Haha xD

I've considered just getting Paupe's jacket created and going cosplaying as myself to the next anime convention. I think it might be a lot more practical, but a lot more defeating of the spirit of the convention. |3c

I hate most fursuits because they look like something like a sports team mascot or something out of a famous children's play and arcade area.

Now there are the Realistic fursuits. Those are amazing!

I have that same kemono preference... fursuits have always been a part of the furry community that I've never found super appealing -- that is, until I saw some kemono styled ones xD

I think it's because of my lifelong love of anime; the kemono style reminds me more of cosplay than some furry team mascot-like thing xD

Wow.. I guess I'm just living under a furry rock here but I didn't know that adult fursuit studios were a thing... I just thought 18+ fursuit stuff was some little niche but there's actually people out there making a living off pics and videos of it?

I dunno, the whole thing doesn't sit right with me. Knowing how much effort it takes to make a suit and how expensive the materials are, it seems like a waste just to have the most awkward possible sexual encounters. It's like two living statues humping while microphones in their faces let out sex noises. I just can't imagine the complete lack of expression and the janky fursuit-ness doing anything but taking away from the sexiness. I mean, the fur being loose on the body and the face being stuck in one expression would make it pretty tough to suspend disbelief... and imagine how creepy it would be if one of the suiters involved had those 'following' eyes, looking right into the camera the whole time...

I'm also bothered by the complete lack of explanation of what Kemono really means. I even tried looking it up on Google to get some examples but didn't find anything. Based on the description I THINK I know what it's about. That cutesy Asian style of furry is one of my favorites, and I've seen a really cool suit or two in that style. But that wasn't what came up on Google. It would really help their campaign to actually show a picture or two to get across what they're talking about, though...

I guess for me personally, I need a fursuit to have some character to it. If it's some lifeless thing, it's just not appealing to me. A lot of realistic ones look messed up, and a lot of cartoony ones either look derpy or just have no soul to them, and they just creep me out. The only ones I tend to like are really stylized kinds.

Hehe... yeah I agree. The lifelessness is what really puts me off about them.  e_e

I like to think it's the same for everyone, but everyone's idea of what feels comfortable and what falls into the "uncanny valley" differs greatly. Some people are more comfortable with them looking like real animals because that's closer to real life. Others feel that the cartoons are more feasibly 'animated,' since kemono style characters make them think of chinese dolls more than actual living things.

Because of that, a fund raising project for a fur suit really has to set its goal firmly and really draw out what's expected in advance. So that supporters are completely aware of what they'll have to look forward to.

I'm still not sure what kemono even is at this point. The lifeless doll thing doesn't sound at all like what I had in mind.
Is this considered Kemono? http://www.kemonono.com/kemono/src/127606585953.jpg
Maybe this one's a little more kimono than kemono but I'd totally love this style if I got a Bit fursuit. http://www.kemonono.com/kemono/src/127610260185.jpg

Though if I ever got a fursuit I'd probably want it to glow, and not just glowing under blacklights either. That massively scruffy neck would take some serious care, or i'd end up with a big tangly mess of a mane.

Hehe, actually the first suit is one of the kemono suits that inspired the project i linked. :3

A while back the creator of it created a second suit of the character's brother and posted a few videos of the two cuddling, being affectionate and tame and cute. A lot of people were turned on by these and wanted the videos to go further, but the creator had no intent of making porn with them and eventually they took those videos down and hid away for a while.

The project is spiritually a goal to create original characters to give people what they wanted. \3
